Ephesians 6:12 "For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms."
God is powerful over all, but we do have a real enemy. One who seeks to destroy through fear and shame and embarrassment. He wants us to stay alone and hide from all that we fear. He wants us to not ask for help, to cry in a corner, to suffer alone. This kind of suffering is so much different than any individual suffering. Not worse or better in any way, just different.
Our past generations were asked to sacrifice in so many ways. We are also being asked to sacrifice, but much differently. We have little faces looking at us asking, "Why?" And we must answer. We must follow the rules and make good decisions for the safety of all. We must quarantine everything but our hearts.
I am so grateful for the last time I gathered with my church.
I am so grateful for the last crazy-full co-op day.
I am so grateful for the last time I went out with a friend.
I am so grateful for the last time I hugged my best friend.
I get to mitigate all this in the tiny way that I can, trusting that God has allowed all of it to pass through His hands.
